Joy Cometh at night (?)

I am a worrier. I know I am not alone...we all worry at some point or another. I just happen to do it on a daily basis! Take last night, for instance.

My long, busy day had finally ended. I was cozy in my bed, eyes closed, slow, relaxed breathing had commenced. It was time to re-charge my batteries. But, sadly, as the body is totally willing, the mind just won't shut off!

Every possible scary scenario flitted through my mind:

~Losing Paul
~Losing my kids
~becoming terminally ill myself
~Paul's job
~My homeschooling qualifications
~Money (or lack thereof)

Nothing new, just the same old fears cropping up. (The evil one sure knows when to strike!)

As I lay there letting him do his dirty work on me, all at once, the Holy Spirit started to speak to me. And I made the choice to listen to His voice. I saw a picture of my Heavenly Father, beckoning me to Him. Holding out His arms, open for me to run to. And I heard Him laugh! LAUGH!

He said to me, "Susan, why are you worried about these trivial things?...Don't you know how small they are? This life, with its trips to the hospitals, cemetaries and poorhouses is not the end. I am the end!" WOW...my end is not in a coffin. It's in His arms.

I still heard the other voice...but it got smaller and quieter, because I started to praise God...just kept saying to Him, "I love you, Lord...You are my Heavenly Father and you want me to be with you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

And, you know something? The last thing I remember was a beautiful peace washing over my entire physical and spiritual being. No trace of fear remained. Nothing. Just the joy of knowing that He is my end. Cool.
